The judge overseeing the New York state murder trial of Luigi Mangione ruled Monday that prosecutors can use a ghost gun and a handwritten notebook โ previously described as a "manifesto" โ as evidence at trial.
State Judge Gregory Carro rejected the defence argument that the gun and notebook were seized illegally when Mangione was arrested at a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in December 2024. The judge found that law enforcement had sufficient probable cause for the arrest.
Brian Thompson, CEO of UnitedHealthcare, was shot and killed outside the New York Hilton in Midtown Manhattan in December 2024.
